This weekend was just what the doctor ordered. Beautiful and sunny Santa Barbara weather with good friends, delicious cupcakes, and a little wine tasting. Phil and I woke up at 5:45am Saturday morning in order to get to Santa Barbara for breakfast at 8:30am. You think we are crazy for waking up SO early on Sat right? We might be. Okay we are. However, we were rewarded for waking up early with The Cold Spring Tavern’s mind blowing biscuits and gravy. Oh my goodness they were heavenly! I dropped some gravy on the table and seriously stared at it for 5 mins wondering if anyone would notice if I licked it off the table. Thankfully husband was there to talk me out of it.
At one of the wine tasting spots we sat outside and listened to an acoustic guitarist, enjoyed the vineyard view, and I tried to dodge the nuts falling out of the tree. It’s amusing that I always gets sat where things are falling on me head. I think there might have been a squirrel throwing them down at me. I got hit twice. Squirrel-2, Laura-0.
The whole weekend was dedicated to celebrating our friend Nathan’s 30th birthday. Happy Birthday amigo! This is going to be a fantastic year for you, I can just feel it. J
