Do you ever have those days
where you just need to spill what’s been happening in your life to a
girlfriend? I hope everyone has at least one good girlfriend that can be that
safe listening ear. I have Katie. Our best hangouts are when we stroll over to
Starbucks and catch each other up on the good, the bad and the stuff that needs
advice. We just had a catch-up session like this where we laughed (mostly at
each other), drank too much coffee (is this possible?), and sympathized with
each other because both our husbands were out of town on business. Oh how we
love our hardworking husbands! Date days with Katie don’t happen as often as I’d
like, but when they do I’m oh so thankful!

Hunger Games Celebration
On my actual birthday my in-lawed sisters, and mother-in-law took me to dinner and a movie. I'm so thankful to have married into this family. I truly adore them. The night went like this, dinner, laughs, coffee (always a celebration if you ask me), laughs, then we watched Hunger Games!!! I always have a blast with them. Also, I apparently only read teen books because I read all of the Hunger Games books... twice. Thankfully two of my sisters-in-law are teens, so I didn't look like the weirdo, trying to be 17, pushing other actual teens in line trying to get a better seat, and seeing the movie the day it came out. Thanks for a fantastic birthday family!

Husband is home!
Phil has been away for the past 8 days on a work trip.
Thankfully he doesn’t have to be away very often because I desperately miss him
when he is gone. To celebrate his return we went to Tito’s Tacos in Culver City.
If you have never been there you must! It is this slightly ghetto, cash only
restaurant, probably not up to health code, but serves the most amazing burritos
in the world! Any time of the day you can find a line wrapped around the building
and people drooling in line waiting for their food. Husband and I enjoyed our
burritos, root beer and each other’s company. Welcome home husband!

Celebration with the Key Family
Last week was my birthday! My immediate family celebrated
with me over a yummy breakfast at a local restaurant a few days before my
birthday. The rain was pouring down outside and this restaurant thought it was
just too warm in the restaurant so they cranked the AC. I think the owner might have been cold
blooded. We froze while we ate breakfast, chatted and caught up, but I still
had a good time. This was the first out of several birthday celebrations for
me. I was spoiled to say the least, and I loved every second of it! Here are a
few pics from breakfast.

LA Flower Mart
My sister Lisa and I love
to help our friends out when they get married. We have a friend that is getting
married this Friday and we are doing the flowers for the whole wedding! We have
probably done about 15 weddings, so we are no strangers to the LA Flower Mart. Yesterday
we went to downtown LA’s flower district and scouted out all the flowers we
would need, placed orders, and are all set for the big day. Chloe came with us
and helped pick out the best vendors by kicking her legs in excitement. Chloe
also smiled and giggled at all the beautifully colored flowers. I cant wait to
post pictures of the gorgeous arrangements!

Almost better
Hey there friends! Well I've been sick for about 2 weeks now and am hopefully going to be all better soon. My poor little blog has been ignored, but I promise to pay more attention to you next week! Until then, I'm oh so excited that spring is almost here! Or is it here already? It's hard to tell in So Cal.

Apartment hunting
Husband is the only one working right now so we have decided to move closer to his work. His daily commute ranges from 2 hours to 3 hours each day and he hasn't gone insane yet, but why push it? Time to move! I'm going to be narrowing my job search near his neck of the woods too. In the mean time, I'm apartment hunting! I assumed when I started looking for places that I would have to look at 3-5 places but one of them would be dreamy, the heavens would open up and I'd know that this is our new home. It would of course be equipped with a refrigerator, washer and dryer (none of my apartments EVER have so I'm not sure why my heart was set on this one), dishwasher, and of course two parking spaces. If you live in an area where it doesn't take you 45 mins to find a parking space in the evening, consider yourself blessed. Parking is like gold in Long Beach.
If you live in the Costa Mesa, Irvine, Laguna Hills area and know of apartments for a good price let me know!

Hit and Runs
Husband and I live off of a very Very VERY busy street. At least every other month we hear an accident right outside our apartment. We, of course being the helpful and concerned individuals we are don't run downstairs to see if anyone needs a paper and pen, but we fling open our blinds, stare aimlessly down at the cars while they figure out who's fault it really was, and wait for the cops to arrive. Now the shocking part of all of this is that at least half of the time one of the drivers takes off. Either they drive off swiftly in their slightly broken car, OR they take off running and leave their car. I'm not sure what the rational thought is when leaving your damaged vehicle in the middle of the street to get towed, and fleeing the scene on foot, but it happens. It has shed more light on the phrase hit and run though!
Have you ever witnessed and accident when something strange like this happens? I'd love to hear your story!

Laid Off
Last week was a very hard week, to say the least. On Wednesday my work, of a little over three years, decided to lay me off. This decision was a complete surprise and they gave me no notice before doing it. Even though I was shocked to get this news, God wasn't. He knew this would happen and He has a plan. I know God is good. I know I can find my security and hope in Him. I know that He has a plan for me, and that it is better than I could plan for myself. So, if anyone knows of a job for me, send it my way!
